#29 Goals for the next 30 days

Happy Tuesday!  It was extremely hard to get out of bed this morning. I must have hit snooze 5 times.
Yesterday after work I was sooo excited to get home so I could run because the day was gorgeous.  I met up with my running partner J and had such a great 4 mile run with avg. pace of 9:30/9:45.  Last time I did this I hurt my foot because I hadn't recovered from the marathon yet!  I felt amazing and feel great this morning! No pain, no weird feeling, nothing.. I am getting my speed back yay!  Tonight we'll be going to spin class which is awesome and I can't wait, and tomorrow we'll try another awesome 5 mile run.  Running makes me sooo happy, I felt like this: (Just wish I was @ the beach in SD).

This was my dinner and was pretty yummy! Took only 15 minutes to cook woohoo.

I may not touch on all of the topics on here and if I do, it may be short because I may not have be interested in that.
My goals for the next 30 days:
(I was a little hesitant to post this- once again I'm showing a weakness/insecurity, but that's what it's all about right? )
Keeping it real.April 15th I’ll be going to New Orleans with friends to celebrate my bf’s and a few others bday.  For the next 30 days I will not only be doing my regular cardio, running & spinning, I will try my hardest to work on my strength every day.  Whether it’s a core, upper body, legs, whatever, even for 15 minutes- I need to get stronger and toned.  I’m what they call the “skinny fat girl”… I know I’m not completely overweight, but in order to feel better about myself and get stronger, I need to hit those weights! I still have flab and plenty of it sitting on top of my muscles.
The one thing I hate the most is feeling insecure and for some reason when I go on vacation or mini vacation, I never have anything to wear because nothing fits and nothing looks good.  I don’t want to wear shorts because my thighs aren’t how I’d like them to be, I don’t want to wear sleeveless shirts because my arms are flabby, I don’t want to wear this and that because of the muffin top, beer gut, back fat, etc… Yes, I’m ripping myself apart, but I do it with lots of love. J  So the next 30 days I will be strength training because Muscles are sexy and I want those toned arms and legs. (I want to run a marathon looking like her hehe).

 I probably won’t ever have a 6 pack and I’m ok with that (I say this now ha!), but I want to be comfortable in my own skin.  I want to walk around NOLA knowing that I own in and not worry about a little flab.  I know I won’t have the body I want in 30 days, but I’ll definitely feel so much better about myself.  More weights and less sugar/junk. 
1.      Work out every day (Rest 1 Sundays)
2.      No sweets- with the exception of a bday party next weekend and I will not go overboard.  Of course I’ll have a raw macaroon, or a piece of dark chocolate ever day.  It’s a must!
3.      No alcohol- with the exception of 3/19 and 4/1… Only 2 days (can’t be beer either). 
4.      No impulsive shopping, I have lots of bdays and trips I must save for! (Anyone good with money that can send me some pointers how to control your spending?)
5.      Blog more
I wrote down my measurements and will do a recap on April 14th.  I didn’t have to share this, but now I’m accountable and it seems like that’s the only way I work ha!

P.S. I've been reading a lot of new blogs lately! Lots of local ones too! yay for Houston :)  It seems like some of the other really popular blogs have lost my interest.  I like fun "real" blogs with people who write about themselves and their problems I relate to, not how perfect their life always is and have oatmeal pics every single day.  Some also lack personality- boring, no thank you!  Also, I like interaction!  I feel as if those blogs choose who they reply to in their comments, tweets, emails (I understand they're busy- we all are). So I am always extremely gratful when YOU reply to anything I shoot you with.  You rock and that's why I read your blogs.  Hope you have a wonderful day!



  1. yeah, I skimmed all the topics the other day and realized some I feel more passionate about than others, so I'm right there with you.

    you can so meet your goals - I can tell how motivated you are PLUS you allowes some flexibility which is KEY!

    Jillian does have the most amazing body. Funny to think she's actually never run a marathon, huh?! You have that on her, girly! Take that! =)

  3. I'm so glad to have found local bloggers too :-) I like real blogs too of people who go to work and have "real" lives instead of just blog ones.

  4. Thanks for visiting my blog, I was excited to see you're another Houston runner! I like reading local blogs too.

    I think those are some great goals. I run a lot, but I totally neglect the weight training. I'm running my first half marathon in less than two weeks, but hope to focus more on toning after that. Good luck with your goals this month!
